Medicare is a United States Government-sponsored health insurance
program available to people in the following categories:
- age 65 or older; OR
- under age 65 with certain disabilities; OR
-
any age with End-Stage Renal Disease
(permanent kidney
failure requiring
dialysis or a kidney
transplant).
Recipients get Medicare benefits through either the ORIGINAL
MEDICARE PLAN, or one of many MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS.
Most people get their
coverage through the ORIGINAL MEDICARE PLAN. (Unless you choose
otherwise, this is the plan you will be enrolled in.)
